Why Strong Runner?
In 2009, Ultrarunner Taavi Sumberg
logged 621 miles in 15 days, running the
last 100 miles in a sleepless 48 hours.
The following year he took on the 4
Deserts Ultramarathon, crossing the Gobi
and Sahara, with the Atacama and
Antarctica still to come. With so much
running came so much injury.
Too often Sumberg went to a doctor,
spent hours in a waiting room, only to
be told what he already knew. Serious
injuries required a physician, no doubt,
but after enough time spent with doctors,
Sumberg decided there was a way for
runners to get injury free and stay
Working with Gunnar Männik, physician
for the Estonian national soccer team,
Sumberg created stretching and exercise
routines to address all the key injuries
he'd suffered as an ultrarunner. Strong
Runner was born.
